We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team on a fixed term contract for 9 months to cover a period of maternity leave. The role is home based, with travel, so we can be flexible on your location.

You will be working closely with the Managing Director (MD) for our largest sector providing both strategic and operational HR solutions.

You will be considered a member of the Senior Leadership Team and you will play an active and instrumental role in influencing key decisions and driving the people agenda forward.

What you'll be doing…

  • A key member of the leadership team, you will be developing and successfully delivering the HR agenda aligned to the business plan
  • Ensuring that all TUPE transfers are managed in an effective manner and to timelines that meet legal obligations, working in collaboration with ER and other HR colleagues to ensure 100% compliance
  • Providing appropriate support to individual members of the senior team to help them develop as people managers and maximise their contribution to the organisation
  • Working effectively with the wider members of the HR function to ensure an effective overall HR service is provided to your business unit
  • Providing HR performance updates against agreed objectives and ensuring effective governance is in place in line with corporate risk management and reporting requirements
  • Developing, monitoring and regularly reviewing key HR Management information to achieve and improve strategic initiatives that support agreed business strategies
  • Providing effective input into sales activity from a HR perspective, including tenders, re-bids and presentations to support the growth of the business units
  • Providing appropriate support to individual members of the senior team to help them develop as people managers and maximise their contribution to the organisation
  • Playing an active role in attending prospective client and re-bid presentations with the senior management team with the objective being to demonstrate the people strategy and proposition for OCS
  • Developing and maintaining productive partnership relations with trade union officials in order to avoid IR issues and support the implementation of business initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with the Employee Relations team and particularly the Head of ER to ensure that all operational HR activity is delivered within agreed SLA's and achieving business requirements

What you'll need…

  • Graduate calibre, ideally MCIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office) with SAP experience desirable
  • Strong Operational HR experience and can demonstrate capabilities of working at a strategic level and as part of a senior team
  • You will also have strong generalist HR knowledge/specialisms (. Talent, Reward, ER and Resourcing) and experience with the capability to challenge and interpret policies and procedures and their implementation by management teams
  • Excellent knowledge of Employment Law, including extensive experience of Trade Union negotiations and collaboration
  • Extensive knowledge of the multi-service contracts market
  • Experience of managing and leading change
  • Highly commercial and analytical with the ability to demonstrate commercial acumen when offering advice to key stakeholders and colleagues
  • Experience of working with Public & Private Sector clients and TUPE staff with a clear understanding of terms and conditions
  • Inspires others to a higher standard of performance and demonstrates an adaptable style to ensure others want to give their best
