This role is for a Bioinformatician, you will play a key role to tackle challenging biological questions. You will work in close collaboration with bench scientists, contributing to the design of CRISPR experiments, analyse genomic and transcriptomics data and develop new bioinformatics pipelines to support our R&D programme and delivery of company-wide milestones.

Develop and implement computational biology tools and software to support gene editing and research activities
Analyse public databases to identify novel candidate genes to inform in-house experiments and review relevant literature to build strong scientific cases
Generate and test hypotheses on genome-scale data using analytical and statistical methods
Work in close collaboration with cell/molecular biologists; contribute to the collaboration by performing computational analyses to inform experimental design, answer biological questions, and guide decision-making for internal R&D programs
Balance integration and extension of existing bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) tools with the creation of new tools and algorithms as needed
Engage in a highly collaborative environment with other scientists bringing a range of disciplines to the project to fully understand the value of computational approaches
Prepare and deliver technical report to the R&D team and senior management
Keep up to date with field developments
General ad-hoc duties as required to support the departmental and organisation requirements Qualifications:

PhD in Computational Biology or related field or MSc with equivalent follow-on experience
≥ 1 years of industry experience or post-doctoral experience in cell line engineering and CRISPR editingEssential Experience:

Extensive experience in analysing and interpreting genomic, NGS or other omics data sets
Experience in programming and running complex analysis in R, MATLAB, Python or similar
Experience working in human disease would be considered plus
Knowledge of common ML approaches often applied to genomics data is desirable, but not essential
Experience designing and performing cell & molecular biology assays
Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities
