Lotus Sanctuary CIC is a community interest company with pure and straightforward housing intention and empowering vulnerable people. We equip our residents with the skills that are vital to lead successful independent lives.
As an Area Manager you will be the face of Lotus Sanctuary within your given area, overseeing approximately 250 - 300 units of temporary accommodation, dealing directly with partners, stakeholders and ensuring that the service delivered is outcome focused, person centred, and meets the changing needs of our client base.
Our support thesis is based on a holistic, person-centred approach, offering the residents emotional and practical support to aid the healing process and solve on-going issues. We walk hand in hand with our residents in developing the skills and confidence needed to lead purposeful, contributing and joyous lives.

The purpose of the role is to ensurethat a range of housing management and empowerment services are provided to vulnerable people. This will include paying rent, reporting repairs supporting, claiming benefits, maximising income, ensuring Welfare Reform compliance, budgeting, grants and debt management, ensuring that Health and Safety are not compromised in any way. Overall, to assist vulnerable people in achieving their aspirations and a successful transition to independence.
To be a successful Area Manager you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key abilities:
·Sound Knowledge of delivering an outcome focused Housing, Empowerment and Support Service.
·Have a person-centred approach to the work you do.
·Experience of staff management, including PDR’s, Performance Management, Training and personal development.
·Have sound experience of working with partners in the local area to build and sustain supportive relationships.
·Have a flexible approach to your working hours to meet the demands of the service.
·Ability to Lead by example
·Ability to, take part in an out of hours on call rota, providing telephone support to all locations.
·Have a sound understanding of Safeguarding, and how to identify trigger points and the correct action to take.
·Have a sound working knowledge of welfare benefits and rights to maximise the income for our clients.
·Have a sound understanding of the different forms of tenancy and licence agreements Lotus use and the rights of both Lotus and the resident under such agreements
·Sound understanding of Universal Credit, in particular the "Housing" element.
·Ability to support your staff to ensure each service user has an agreed budget plan to ensure our service is affordable for them and reduce the risk of rent debt occurring.
·Support the work of the Business Development Team in your location
-Experience working with vulnerable people in the following settings/Types of work
-Residential or Social Work, Probation, Community Work, Education and Training, Housing.
-Up to date knowledge of welfare rights and relevant legislation, resources etc.
-Up to date knowledge of housing legislation
-Able to understand the difference between friendship and support.
-Relevant NVQ 3 in Care, Advice & Guidance or any other equivalent qualification.
-Relevant NVQ 3 in Housing any other equivalent qualification (Housing Management qualification)
