Your new role
The role is about ensuring the effective two-way communication and liaison between the day and night teams and supporting the Head of Care through effective leadership and management of a night team to maintain a caring, stable, and happy environment that puts the health, safety, development and welfare of our young people first.
You will be required to provide appropriate physical and emotional support to young people in residence through the work of a support team within the residential environments and to ensure independent living skills are fully promoted and embedded across the residential accommodation, this will include ensuring your team supports our young people to access the wider community for activities, interests and hobbies in the evenings.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced support worker with some experience of managing a team and mentoring individuals in developing good practice in a care/learning support context. You will ideally hold your Level 3 Diploma or equivalent for Children or Adults depending on service.
You will have proven experience of working effectively with young people with learning disabilities and/or special needs. Experience of planning and organising activities appropriate to meet young people's needs and abilities, demonstrating positive outcomes.
You will have knowledge of management practice including principles of effective supervision and will have good knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs including recent developments.
