An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Brand Manager (Fabric Cleaning) to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum, based at Blackfriars in London (working remotely from home during Covid and 40% of the week in office after). This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 6 months with a high likelihood of being extended, working a -hour week, to start ASAP. This role is paying up to maximum of £41,000, pro rata per annum, depending on experience.

Business context and main purpose of the job

Fabric Cleaning is one of our biggest categories (€6BN and growing!) and has ambitious vision and plan: we want to lift the burden of laundry for all people and our planet. And the way we do that is by being the industry thought-leaders: leading the industry transformation through superior, sustainable and more convenient solutions. Surf is a key driver to achieve this: not only was Surf our first ever brand, today the brand is worth over €1BN, and spans all key formats, and both our most advanced as well as some of our largest markets.

Main Purpose of the Job: This is a rare opportunity to craft a new stage of the future of a major brand. Surf / Sunlight is a brand that was born purposeful, under our original mission to "make cleanliness commonplace; to lessen work for women; to foster health and contribute to personal attractiveness, that life may be more enjoyable and rewarding for the people who use our products". Today, we need to find the ways to create and land with impact a new central articulation - and innovation programme to go with it - that builds from the brands strengths but takes it into a more sustainable future.

This role exists to make this vision a reality. Day to day this will mean working within a small and highly empowered team, liaising with market leaders as well as cross-functional teams and agencies, crafting highly creative and impactful new ideas which will make the brand truly unmissable.


Together with the senior marketing manager, global director and key market leads, define and create the key innovations which will create this future.
Lead the creation of unmissable digital creative and PR campaigns, both on core and on specific innovations.
Together with senior marketing manager, drive into execution the articulated "People / Planet / Product" strategy for the brandRelevant Experience
