UniCarriers, previously Atlet, have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Engineer to join the team in their impressive workshop at the UK Headquarters in Thame, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Monday to Friday.

UniCarriers is a brand of Mitsubishi Logisnext, the world’s fourth-largest industrial truck manufacturer, supplying a complete range of electric, gas and diesel operated trucks to our customers.

Key responsibilities

As our Workshop Engineer some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Carrying out pre-delivery inspections of new and used machines before they are transported to our customers

  • Preparing hire machines to company standards before being sent out to customers

  • Carrying out planned servicing and modifications to a variety of equipment

  • Fitting ancillary equipment as specified by our customers

In addition, you will account for parts fitted and labour spent. You will be required to produce accurate documentation and technical reports to company standards.

Skills and Experience

Ideally you will have worked with material handling products before; however, we are open to considering candidates from other backgrounds such as: Automotive, Agricultural, REME, Construction Equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV or Plant.

To maintain our range of machines, the successful candidate will possess working knowledge and some practical experience of most of the following disciplines (please note that full product training and knowledge transfer will be given during the induction period with ongoing training available through our own product support department).

  • Experience of working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains etc.)

  • Electrical drive and control systems

  • Diesel and LPG engines and common drive-trains

  • Hydraulics

  • Some computer/electronic based diagnostic experience may assist

Inter-personal skills required

Our ideal Workshop Engineer will be an organised and logical person who takes pride in delivering consistent high-quality work. You will have strong communication skills and a professional, helpful attitude and have the ability to manage your own workload, supported by the Workshop Manager.
