We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Fashion team working on our High Street Brands department. it’s a fast paced and diverse role and when we say that two days are never the same we are not kidding!

You will provide creative and administrative support to the Junior Buyer and Buyer in developing product ranges to meet sales, margin and stock targets within a specific product/category area. You will be able to work closely with some great Brands whilst helping us to constantly improve and grow on our range.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience of the buying process, working closely with the Junior Buyer and Buyer you will be responsible for your own categories within the fashion area. You wil be manage category related administrative processes that are time critical to the business. You will collate and present product information, sales information, trend packs and/or mood boards as appropriate, including the preparation for Today’s Special Value meetings (TSV) Business Strategy meetings (BSM), Open To Buy meetings (OTB) and Merchandising Strategy Meetings. You will Produce Range Review packs, undertake Market Reports and Competitor Shopping analysis and bring suggestions of new ideas/products to the team.
You will be required to have good product understanding to enable you to prepare Guest Presenters before a live show. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be the main point of contact for suppliers, as well as liaising with other departments within the organisation. Experience of liaising with suppliers is essential.
Candidates should have experience within a head office buying environment, ideally at BAA or Assistant Buyer level. It is essential for the successful candidate to have a good understanding and experience of managing a critical path. Trend awareness with a passion for product and an understanding of the retail buying function are both key. Good PC skills are necessary for this role, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong presentation skills are important.
