Debt Advice Caseworker
£11.28 - 11.28 per hour + 25 days (pro-rata) annual leave & entitlement for any bank holidays a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan

The Salvation Army operates a busy Debt Advice Service which works to meet the needs of those people in our communities burdened with debt. We are looking for someone who combines their skills of being a debt adviser with a heart for Christian mission.
The post-holder will support the mission of the Salvation Army by meeting the needs of those struggling with debt and related financial issues. The Debt Advice Caseworker will need to be able to manage a caseload of clients who are at different stages of the debt process by exploring the debt problem, negotiate with creditors on behalf of the clients and work with the clients to find a route out of debt whilst providing the clients with skills and knowledge to manage their finances. They will ensure that the CDA & MES is delivered within the Christian ethos of the Salvation Army having keen regard for the outcome delivery of its key mission objectives - both National and Local.
The successful candidate(s) will:
Have proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a similar environment and in managing a caseload of clients, be able to work on their own initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers and the public. It is important that the candidate understands the needs of the community and has proficiency in English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army. There is no Occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian
