Junior IT Service Desk Analyst

Location: York - YO19 4FE

Salary: Competitive

Hours of Work: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm

The Group headquarters, Persimmon Plc, based in York are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person to join our IT Service Desk team. Comprehensive on the job training will be given to enable the successful candidate to deliver first class IT support via telephone, remote access and email. The role will involve all aspects of supporting end users from logging and responding to their incidents, carrying out relevant diagnostics and fault finding.

This position would ideally suit a recent school or college leaver, giving them a great opportunity to develop their career within an IT support environment.

Junior IT Service Desk Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Provide a single point of contact for all supported IT services
  • Respond to phone calls, emails and electronic forms
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by answering all calls promptly, remaining courteous and professional at all times
  • Use effective communication to proactively manage customer expectations
  • Logging all incidents in the appropriate software, ensuring all relevant information is recorded. Incidents are categorised accurately and prioritised in accordance with our agreed impact and urgency
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support in accordance with the IT policies and procedure
  • Ensure that all owned incidents and requests are resolved in accordance with their Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Track and monitor third party incidents ensuring resolution is in accordance with their Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Escalate incidents where a satisfactory resolution has not been provided or where a higher level of management input is required

Junior IT Service Desk Analyst Requirements:

  • A Level IT, BTEC in Computing or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the following: (Desirable)
  • Windows OS 7 - 10
  • Windows Server OS 2008 - 2016
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 - 2016
  • VMWare
  • Mobile Device Management IBM Mass360, Sophos Mobile Control, VMWare Airwatch, Microsoft Intune
  • Android Smartphones
  • Backup software (Arcserve, Veeam)
  • Anti-virus products
  • Voice Systems
  • Microsoft Office (all versions)
  • MCSA or equivalent (Desirable)
  • SDI - Service Desk Analyst or equivalent (Desirable)
  • ITIL V3 Foundation or a working knowledge of the framework (Desirable)
  • Valid UK driving licence
