Purchaser (Engineering) – this is a great opportunity to join GB Ingredients, part of the Lallemand Group.  We are a well-established international company that specialises in the development, production and marketing of yeasts and we are looking for a Purchaser for Engineering Stores to be based at our Felixstowe site. The purpose of this key role within the company is to provide support for the company engineering technical sourcing and purchasing. As the Purchaser (Engineering) you will take the lead on sourcing and purchasing engineering supplies; provide support for the company CAPEX technical sourcing including complete production line tender and purchasing with eventually supervising cross functionals teams. As system administrator this role will ensure consistent application of the site procedures to interface with engineering purchasing, inventory, and site accounting department. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Technical purchasing – receiving and qualifying requisitions, sourcing and negotiating with optimum suppliers, and making procurement recommendations and decisions.  Manage all of this within company processes and systems and databases. System Administrator – manage and trouble shoot procurement system issues; identify new technology solutions; manage training, reporting and records. Spare parts warehouse - ensure that the warehouses are maintained in an orderly way and spare parts kept at a relevant level.  Reconciliate database and inventory physical count and ensure that engineering document are kept in an orderly way. Continuous improvement - Master procurement method knowhow, procedure and buying standards and give recommendations on continual improvement of purchasing process to gain operational efficiencies. Financial controls – be aware of budget figures and participate to the engineering/CAPEX budget control; manage weekly/monthly reports and comments of departmental spending. As the Purchaser you will need a relevant engineering qualification, five years + proven work experience in an engineering department with Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument exposure, and to demonstrate at least five years + proven work experience in database management including workflow processing, configuration management and reports/dashboards creation. You will need to be familiar with industry standard equipment and technical expertise. You will be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory processes. You will need a broad knowledge of engineering terminology and equipment and engineering stores management experience. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, Maximo as well as knowledge of workorder, purchasing and warehousing processes is also essential. The Purchaser role is full-time, working 8am - Monday to Friday. On offer to the successful candidate is a salary range of £30,000 - £38,000 per annum dependent on experience and expertise. You will receive 25 days holiday, access to a contributory pension scheme, paid overtime, and standby payment when on-call. It would desirable if you have experience in Food and Beverage, or Food services industry and five years + proven work experience as a quality, food safety or technical manager to be successful.
