Role: Software Design and Commissioning Engineer Company: A world leader within design and manufacturing across the food and beverage industry Location: Colne, Nelson, Burnley, Blackburn, Darwen Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + benefits Ref: DF10SDCE We have a great opportunity for a Software Design and Commissioning Engineer to join a world leader that specialises in the design and manufacture of machinery into the food industry. This company has continued to invest significantly in its people and technologies, which has allowed them to expand and grow exponentially. This company are situated in purpose-built premises and due to their continued growth and success, this role has become available to help with workload and to grow the team. The Role As the Software Design and Commissioning Engineer, you’ll report into the Software Manager and will be responsible for liaising with customers regarding Design and commissioning, managing project documentation, providing technical support and handling customer breakdown. You’ll organise and work alongside the Electrical Installation team on control projects and provide support to the Software Manager. Your duties also include designing hardwired electrical circuit drawings (AutoCAD), you’ll compile parts lists, order materials and support the Design Manager with drawing updates. Other key duties include: To be successful in the role as a Software Design and Commissioning Engineer you’ll need to have the following skills and experience; You’ll be fully conversant with; PLC programming (typical Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Omron, Rockwell Automation), SCADA programming, typical RSView32, WinCC, MX4, MAPS AND Human machine interface HMI programming. This is essential criteria for the role especially writing new software from the concept phase. You’ll have working knowledge of Setup and configuring motion devices Background in working alongside the electrical installation team on control projects. Commissioning experience is essential for this role Providing Support to the Software Manager Willingness to attend training courses on new products and accreditations Flexibility to work on projects in the UK and overseas when required This is a permanent opportunity which offers a generous annual salary between £40,000 - £45,000 + benefits package along with market leading personal development and career opportunities.
