An exciting new opportunity for a Community Safety Specialist so some knowledge of Enforcement is required. This could, for example prove ideal for someone who is ex-Police or ex-local Government who has worked in a similar capacity before.
The role is being presented initially on a fixed term contract basis, but there is every likelihood it could continue beyond this initial period.
The Position:
Working for the local Council, you will lead on the delivery of an excellent and co-ordinated community safety, community development, sports, play and health and wellbeing service, including development of project and new initiatives to enable service delivery, utilising funding opportunities and partnership opportunities to full effect (including the Police, Social Services and Probation), working closely to develop partnerships with key stakeholders, volunteer sector and community groups.
You will have the ability to develop knowledge of statutory and relevant legislation including Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015, Clean Neighbourhoods and Environments Act, Anti-Social Behaviour Police & Crime Act 2014, Crime & Disorder Act 1998 , Police & Justice Act etc.
You will chair meetings and signpost partners to support and agencies for assistance, respond to crime and safety concerns and act on Anti-Social Behaviour activity on behalf of the local Council.
The ideal candidate will require experience in these areas as well as having enforcement knowledge of experience in order to prepare legal files and give evidence in court.
Knowledge and understanding of the workings of local government and operating in Political environment all helpful.
Knowledge of managing budgets and grants would be considered an advantage as the successful Community Safety Specialist will work undertake work for the Council and Police & Crime Commissioner.
The role will be split 50:50 between office based and out in the community, in and around the Folkestone area, so a driving licence is required. You would have access to a works vehicle and in the unlikely event a works vehicle not being available at any time, you would be required to use your own vehicle and re-claim mileage costs at the rate of £ per mile.

However due to the nature of the role and depending on the projects you are handling, there could be a requirement to work outside these times, including occasional weekend work, but you will average 37 hours per week.
£ per hour - £ per hour depending on qualifications, skills and experience which equates to the equivalent salary of £31, = £36,310 per annum pro rata.
The successful candidate will then need to be DBS Enhanced Checked by the Council and NVVP Level 2 vetted for the Police.
