Role: Behaviour Mentors - South Leicester
Start: September 2021
Payscale - £70-£90 (Dependant on experience and responsibilities given)
Full-Time Role to become permanent for the right candidate.
GSL Education Leicester is looking for a dynamic and adaptable Behaviour Intervention Support Mentor that will be able to support pupils on a daily basis at a specialist school located in South Leicester. Specifically, the successful candidate will work with identified students within the school to support them on a 1:1 basis and within classes to improve their behaviour choices and outcome. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various SEND needs, experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential.
The school caters to children and young people with various SEN including SEMH, Attachment Disorder, Autism, ADHD, Aggression and those from LAC backgrounds. The pupils often struggle to access the curriculum and often struggle to engage in education.
Experienced in supporting children and young people, ideally in an educational setting
Trained in Team Teach, Mappa, Nappi or Pillars (not essential)
Be able to establish meaningful positive relationships quickly
Support pupils inside and outside of the classroom
Can participate in, manage, and lead struggling or excelling pupils in small intervention groups or 1:1 academic sessions
Has a background in either of the following: Challenging SEN Provisions, Youth/ Community/ Social Services, Residential Support, Ex-Military/ Police/ Prison/ security services or Mental Health Support Services (including CRISIS or Suicide prevention)To apply for this role, you must have a Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (we can provide you with details on how to start a new application) and be able to provide a full career history and 2 referees.
