About the role:
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor role is a key role within the Chevron business, assisting the commercial and senior management team in ensuring efficient contract delivery and exceeding the budgeted performance.
Working alongside other members of the commercial and operations team your tasks will include; providing accurate costs and value information, assisting in the compilation of costs and journals, ensuring timely and accurate billings of works, ensuring client application dates are met, monitoring and maintaining data on our company systems, assisting with pricing, estimates and quotations and also assisting in cash collection and debt management. You will also manage the early warning and compensation event process as per NEC form of contract and will be required, if necessary, to deal with any client disputes, whilst upholding strong client relationships.
Accuracy and efficiency are paramount, as reporting is key to the role. You will also prepare reports of monthly management accounts and provide data for costs and revenue ensuring deadlines for reporting periods are met. Looking at KPIs to seek areas for improvement will also be under your remit.
Predominantly based from our Leeds depot, a willingness to travel is also required as you will be expected to travel to various other of the groups sites.

You possess excellent communication and negotiation skills both verbally and in writing and demonstrate the best in service and client care. You thrive working on your own initiative, solving problems and are a sound team player. Keen and eager to learn, you always give 100% and deliver all your work to the highest of standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software
- Understanding of the NEC form of Contract
- Confident to work with an IT/Digital system led solution to commercial management
- Good communicator and team worker. Confidently able to assist with the delivery presentations to clients
- Ability to build new and existing relationships with Clients and suppliers
- Full UK Driving Licence and own transport
Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes (training given if required)
Have a basic working knowledge of Temporary Traffic Management.
Previous demonstrable, experience in quantity surveying
