Following investment, this is a brand new section on our production line for the vertical bagging of the chickens. You will have access to lots of training and development to progress, all while working with state of the art equipment and technology. There is opportunity to progress within the team and join our skilled operatives in many different areas of the business.

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be involved in the production and packaging of raw food products. Following investment, this is a brand new section on our production line for the vertical bagging of the chickens, an exciting time to join Avara Foods. You will adhere to health and safety at all times and follow all tasks in line with food safety rules.

Key responsibilities will include:

•Weigh and label whole birds in steel bins ensuring they are sealed and covered.

•Maintain and supply clean bins for production, checking chemical dosages.

•Maintain safe operation of pallet trucks in a time restricted environment.

•Transport product to dispatch as required.

•Handling/lifting of crates averaging 18kg.

•To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used.

•Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets if applicable.

•To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines.

What we are looking for:

•Good level of English and basic numeracy skills

•The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively

•Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks

•Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday 16:30-01:30 / Monday to Friday 07:30-16:30
