Quality Assurance Officer

I am currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Officer to join an established FMCG manufacturer based near Preston offering a competitive salary and great benefits. The role is permanent, days based and Monday to Friday.

The role reports directly into the Head of Quality and will be a key to reducing product defects, nonconformities and improve finished product quality. The business is always open to supporting people through external courses to ensure development and progression throughout the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse the root cause of quality problems and identify permanent fix solutions or provide guidance on action to be taken to resolve them
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality issues caused by their products including implementation of appropriate correction and preventative actions
  • Perform internal audits in support of the internal audit programme.
  • Support the corrective and preventative action (CAPA) process for the business by ensuring proposed actions are effective and closed in a timely manner
  • Support new product introduction by providing specific quality engineering expertise to NPI projects
  • Participate in line trials. Present findings at post line trial run review meetings
  • Oversee first production startup of new products, including carrying out capability studies and product inspection to ensure that Customer specifications and requirements are achieved.
  • Carry out quality risk assessments for all production lines and major business processes
  • Fully investigate and respond to customer complaints

Requirements

  • BSc or equivalent in Scientific, Engineering or Manufacturing discipline
  • Experience in a similar quality role within a manufacturing environment
  • Qualified or experience auditor
  • Root cause analysis experience
  • Experience of working in a GMP environment
  • A confident people person able to influence and communicate effectively with all levels
