Production Planning Manager

After nearly 30 years in the business, this food manufacturing company really know their stuff - this super role leads a small team and works across production and warehousing operations.
In Production Planning you will be creating production plans that mean sufficient finished goods are available on time and to the quantity required to fulfil customer orders.
You'll work closely with the wider business to make sure production schedules allow time for planned equipment maintenance and can react to customer trial orders and requests at short notice.
You will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse meets minimum stock holding levels at all times and that production is minimising waste and scrappage of raw materials.

Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire - easily commutable from Letchworth, Stevenage, Luton, Biggleswade, etc.
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday until (with an early finish on a Friday!)
You should have a solid background in production planning within a manufacturing environment (ideally food) also some experience in leading a team.
It's essential that you have strong skills - particularly in Excel- and are able to produce schedules, plans, reports, budgets, etc. to a good standard.
Also experience working with MRP / ERPsystems is important (they are using Orchestrate)
This role is based at the site in Hitchin, but you must be also within a commutable distance of their secondary location in Biggleswade.
