Environment | Consultant | Land | Quality | Nuclear | Project | Life Cycle | Geology | Water Role: Principal Consultant Environment and Land Quality Location: Manchester – Can be flexible with location Salary: £40, - £50, Summary: The successful Consultant will be expected to technical and financially manage a range of projects through quotation to the issue of technical reports. There will be a focus in the areas of environmental, site investigation, assessments, planning and managing ground investigations. A significant area of the business sits within the Nuclear Sector, focused on decommissioning as well as new build so an understanding of the challenges of project delivery and project life cycles would be advantageous. Responsibilities: 1. Lead and develop the technical management of client projects and provide consultancy resources to the required technical standards. 2. Help to develop and mentor junior members of the team. 3. Ensure compliance is maintained. 4. Management of projects from planning to financial control 5. Undertake, where appropriate marketing and business development activities About you: 1. Degree in a relevant discipline Environmental/Science/Geology/Hydrogeology/Geochemistry 2. A track record within an established commercial consultancy working with a wide range of industrial clients. 3. A record of delivering contaminated land assessment and remediation projects in the UK. 4. Design experience 5. Ability to write high quality technical reports and management of the process. 6. Ability to manage HSSE aspects of the site work. 7. Ability to support the junior members within the team. 8. Working knowledge of UK/EU standards and best practice 9. Strong project and contract management skills. Desirable Skills: 1. Master’s Degree in relevant discipline 2. Nuclear Industry knowledge 3. Understanding of chlorinated solvents and hydrogeology 4. Chartership of relevant professional body or working towards this. 5. NEC contract management experience 6. Competent user of Microsoft packages including MS Project, MS Visio, PowerPoint etc
