LRL are currently looking for a Technical Manager to join an expanding team in the Chelmsford area.
About the Role:
Develop the Site Strategy for Food Safety, Quality, Health & Safety & Environmental compliance.
Lead the Site in the maintenance & improvement of Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety standards
Assure all site Food Safety, Quality, and legal compliance objectives are met.
Champion Food Safety, Site Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance across the business.
Lead the site HACCP team, & maintain the plan through regular reviews
Lead and develop 3rd party Certification standards.
Manage the Internal Audit programme and Food Safety Culture for the site
Manage document control and update technical policy documents.
Ensure Food Safety, Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental management systems are embedded and maintained
Co-ordinate coaching, training, and information to enable the site teams to deliver their Food Safety & Quality requirements to a competent level.
Lead any Incident investigation to establish root cause and corrective and preventive actions.
Oversee the verification and maintenance of process and quality control equipment.
Maintain good relations & contact with regulatory bodies.
Work closely with & support the Operations team with the implementation of change projects.
Embed Company Purpose, Vision, Values and Behaviours within the site aligned to driving a standard way of operating where all employees play in position but understand the total goal of the organisation.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum three years in Food or Beverage industry in a Quality / Food safety role
Have led / managed external GFSI Certification audits
Detailed knowledge and experience of BRCGS standard (Version 8)
Experience of Quality Management & Document control systems
Experience in working with Suppliers & Local Authorities.
Experience in coaching & delivering training.
Open and authentic in their interactions matching actions and words, building trust and support with others.
Works collaboratively with peers and extended teams, building common agendas, aligned objectives and delivery plans.
Delivers critical compassionate challenge sensitively but effectively to support drive for continuous improvement throughout the supply chain operations.
Ability to be resilient, unwavering, in critical circumstances to protect the business in the provision of product integrity, employee safety and environmental protection.
Demonstrates a mature, pragmatic, and holistic perspective to organisational development recognising and providing a sequencing of development aligned to the greatest realisable opportunities
Degree level or equivalent in a relevant Food, Science, Technical subject
HACCP level 3
NEBOSH general certificate (preferred), or IOSH Managing Safely (minimum) or equivalent
Lead Auditor qualification preferred
