The post will provide a full administrative service to support Faculty Executive and Academic School operations, processes and activities. The post holder will be flexible in covering a range of administrative tasks related to faculty operations, research and scholarly activity within the three Schools, and for student support processes. The post holder will work collegiately with Professional Services and academic colleagues in the Faculty and across the wider university. Duties will include - but will not be limited to - supporting academic staff with their varied administrative tasks such as purchase requisitions, complex travel arrangements, activity risk assessments, student overseas trips, staff recruitment, and Faculty/School meetings. Duties will also include providing assistance to the Faculty Office for academic-related administration. The post holder will also be required to take action upon matters needing attention during the absence of the School Secretaries and PAs as appropriate. The post holder will also provide additional support to activities enhancing the student and staff experience for example the degree show.
With five GCSEs, at Grade C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent) you will have experience of working in a busy administrative role supporting a range of tasks concurrently including arrangements for meetings, minute taking, travel arrangements, dealing with a range of people and communicating effectively at all levels. You will be knowledgeable of a range of IT packages and be able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail, as well as evidence excellent customer service skills. Working as part of a busy team, you will share DMU’s passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students and staff.
The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM) is home to a diverse range of courses across three specialist schools, The School of Computer Science and Informatics, School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, and the Leicester Media School.
