A new and exciting vacancy has arisen for a dynamic Service Support practitioner to join the team at MMCG. The successful candidate will support specific services in clinical / non-clinical improvements identified through regulatory and internal audit / inspection processes. The post holder will link with the Nurse Practitioner (Clinical Quality) to adopt a hand on practical approach to delivering positive improvement and change within a service.

The main function of the role is to be deployed into a service which requires clinical or care support to achieve quality focused outcomes which will have been established through audit and regulatory inspection processes.

The Service Support Practitioner will report to the Clinical Director’s team

Our ideal Service Support Practitioner will have the following skills and values:

  • Care Practitioner / Senior Care Level – holding NVQ 3 as minimum
  • At least 2 years in a Care Home setting
  • A practical, 'hands on' approach
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory standards, statutory requirements in a care home setting and of improvement methods with the ability to guide, coach and practically empower services to implement change.
  • Experience of conducting checks of medications, care plan completion & staff observation
  • Experienced in supporting other to manage a shift through delegation and allocation of staff
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of developing links with healthcare professionals and external organisations
  • Supporting Quality team in identifying compliance issues and supporting the service to remedy
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • An ability to work flexibly to the needs of the service and organisation. This post will require extensive travel and some overnight stays
