Learning Mentor

Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, £90 per day

Secondary School, Redbridge

Trial day w/c Monday 1st November, full time from there.

We are looking for a full time Learning Mentor to join a secondary school in Redbridge. The main purpose of this role is to carry out day to day responsibilities for regular administrative tasks under the guidance of the line manager.

Trial days are to be held week commencing Monday 1st November.

The Learning Mentor's duties will include (but not restricted to):

  • Participate in all aspects of the management and improvement of Student Behaviour and the prevention of poor behaviour in line with the schools Behaviour Policy.
  • To be flexible as a member of the Inclusion Team, supporting the work of the rest of the team when appropriate.
  • Manage a caseload of students to identify and overcome barriers to learning through 1:1 mentoring and group sessions.
  • To deliver, design and monitor group interventions as part of the Inclusion Departments Pastoral Curriculum.
  • Liaise with the Pastoral Manager and SLT link for Inclusion to operate, monitor and evaluate achievement and behaviour systems.
  • Participate in the supervision of Learning Zone; registering students who are internally excluded and organising work for them.
  • Ensure the Learning Zone has a resource of academic and reflective work packs for students to access whilst in isolation.

The successful Learning Mentor will have:

  • L3 Diploma or above related to Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Degree level qualification
  • Learning mentor (or similar) experience working within a school setting (open to experience)
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Online Update Service
  • An excellent and bubbly personality!
