Melbreck Technical is working with a leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose equipment, with locations throughout the UK, and who possess a distinguished trading history that covers over 100 years.
They are known across multiple industries for their innovation and quality products that last. They have had a great start to 2021, and as such have identified key projects within the UK Procurement Team that they want to kick off ASAP. Because of this they are looking to secure an experienced Buyer or Category Buyer to join the business on a six-month contract ASAP.
You will have the chance to join the business at a pivotal moment as it undergoes some very exciting changes. The role will include the opportunity to work within different teams and functions within the business giving you the ability to really showcase your experience and commercial awareness.
Buyer / Category Buyer – Role Overview and Responsibilities:
A key part of your role will be responsible for managing contract negotiations for:
PPE Purchasing
MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul)
Chemical Purchasing
Contract Analysis
Data Integration
Contractor Management
Rebate Chasing
You will provide support on tactical and strategic projects and initiatives.
Look for opportunities to develop short-, medium- and long-term plans for addressing cost reduction and lead time reduction.
Support the business in the integration of SAP Ariba by working with users and stakeholders alike to understand their requirements, collate feedback and provide analysis to the UK Procurement Team.
Buyer / Category Buyer – Candidate Requirements
Degree in a Procurement or Supply Chain Disciple preferred or CIPS Level four qualification or above, however, industry experience would also be considered.
Ideally you will have SAP Ariba B2B experience but this is not essential.
Working knowledge of MS Office
Analytically minded.
Problem-solving aptitude.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
