Calibre Recruitment Solutions is recruiting for a Support Coordinator - Project Engineer to join our client, based in Portsmouth. The role will provide Engineering support for the design and embodiment of a fantastic project my client is working on. You will work with partners, suppliers and the customer to manage and develop the requirement set and enable the project to achieve acceptance of contract. The Support Coordinator - Project Engineer will be required to liaise with wider project stakeholders to ensure processes and documentation required to support embodiment, test, commissioning and acceptance has been produced. The Support Coordinator - Project Engineer will also contribute to the change management process to ensure that any technical queries or proposed changes are responded to and there is maintenance of the engineering integrity from a quality and safety perspective.
THE ROLE OF SUPPORT COORDINATOR - PROJECT ENGINEER:
* Coordination of acceptance evidence for contracted requirements through VCRM
* Definition of the qualification obligations for the assurance hold points during build, test and commissioning and providing assurance to the Design Authority
* Appropriate flow down of requirements, support as necessary to ensure understanding of contracted requirements
* Resolving a range of systems engineering issues and problems, compiling technical reports and presentations as necessary
* Assisting with Test and Commissioning activity
* Providing realistic systems engineering status, identifying issues and implementing agree recovery plans
* Reviewing proposed changes during embodiment phase to assess impact on contracted requirements
* Systems Engineering planning activity
* Making decisions autonomously and delegate where necessary
THE SUPPORT COORDINATOR - PROJECT ENGINEER:
* Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and able to apply good systems engineering practices to work
* Recognition of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations including ISO 15288 Systems and Software Engineering - System Lifecycle Processes
* Understanding DOORS and its use in the management of requirements and acceptance of evidence
* Experience of the design lifecycle from initial design through to test, trials and acceptance
* Ability to define test and trials activities in order to commission systems and provide verification. validation evidence required to manage risk and demonstrate compliance with contractual requirements
* Technical experience in managing specialist suppliers and OEMs
* Degree qualified in relevant Engineering field
* Working towards Chartered Status would be ideal
* Would be beneficial to have knowledge/ experience of Marine Engineering systems
* Broad understanding of matric management in complex operational environment
* Ability to lead on a panel
* Ability to coordinate and manage supplier engineering programmes to meet internal programme requirements
* Keen problem solver, strong diplomacy skills, ability to influence and gain support from wider project stakeholders
