A Demand Planner is required for my Gloucestershire based client, a global leader in the design and manufacture of electro-mechanical products for a range of industries.
The Demand Planner will be responsible for managing the demand planning tools and provide in depth analysis of the demand and supply data to support the successful planning of operations within the Supply business.
Key Accountabilities and responsibilities of the Demand Planner:
Management of the Inventory Quality Management (IQM) model and related refresh processes. This involves refreshing the data, managing the planning review of this data and uploading the new model to the ERP system.
Measuring and monitoring the success in meeting the requirements of the IQM model. Analyze the reasons for success and failure with the aim of making ongoing adjustments to the model data to improve performance.
Developing enhancements to the management and maintenance of the IQM model with specific focus on slimming the refresh lead times along with sustaining better data accuracy within the model.
Managing the forecast model and related refresh processes. This involves extracting the base data, analyzing the information and managing the assessment process by the planning team.
Measuring forecast accuracy, analyze the largest errors to understand the reasons with the aim to remove the cause of these errors from the current forecast and future forecasts
Developing enhancements to the management and maintenance of the forecast model with specific focus on slimming the refresh lead times along with sustaining better data accuracy within the model between refreshes.
Engaging with the different areas of the business to understand their future demand and reflect this in the IQM model and the forecast.
Monitoring the ongoing NPI projects and engineering changes to ensure they are progressed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and are reflected in the forecast and IQM models.
Reviewing the monthly OTTR and OTTC results, coordinate data collection and root cause analysis activities with aim of producing and implementing corrective actions.
Experience and Skills of the Demand Planner:
Previous experience within production planning within an engineering environment.
Understand and interact with forecast data and forecast processes.
Previous experience using an inventory management
Previous experience of using an IT based planning system together with exposure to and use of an ERP system.
Strong initiative with a focus on continuous improvement.
Identifying, developing and maintaining product and package solutions across Supply Chain so as to be best placed to win orders.
