Events Video Technician - Audio Visual Alecto Recruitment are currently representing a well established and reputable Audio Visual company based in Hertfordshire, now seeking a Live Events Video Technician to join their in specialist video engineering team. My client are a full service technical production company, delivering hundreds of events each year including conferences, product launches, awards ceremonies, AGMs, exhibitions and road shows. Providing sound, video, lighting, scenic, digital content and full project management, they have been helping transform events into extraordinary experiences for over 25 years, building an industry reputation for quality kit, technical knowledge and service delivery. The Role The role of On-Site Video Technician is to supply specialist video engineering & equipment operational skills as determined by the Head of Video, Project Managers and Account Handlers. As Video technician you will typically work on site for live events, but when not on site duties will include assisting with service and repairs alongside general upkeep of video equipment and associated storage. Duties will include: Onsite setup of projection, video and data cabling, LED wall installation, Plasma/LCD set up, video switching, racks engineering, camera set up and much more.Reporting back the shortfalls and improvements required oat the end of each projectAssisting in technical preparation and testing of equipment and systems to meet expected standardsInstallation, management and operation of video equipment on siteShowing a willingness to assist in maintenance, repair and upkeep of video equipment, video storage and maintenance areas when not on site. It is desirable that the successful candidate will work towards gaining the necessary skills to attain the role of Video Project Manager. The Candidate: To be considered for this position, you must have gained previous experience within the exhibition and live events industry, working within a similar role or at a similar level. Audio Visual technical knowledge is essential, particularly with video and data cabling, LED wall installation, Plasma/LCD set up, video switching, racks engineering, camera set up or similar.Knowledge of R2 rental systems is desired, but not essential. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential you have a flexible approach to working hours as travel will be required, as well as the requirement to work evenings and weekend during busy periods to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel from time to time.
