WE ARE LOOKING FOR TALENTED PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!
Knowing that you're making a difference to people's lives is rewarding in itself. But our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.
The Cloisters is a 25 bedded hospital (currently being extended to 34 beds) set within a peaceful environment on the edge of Newbury. Working in partnership with NHS Trusts, the unit offers inpatient individualised treatment and rehabilitation to patients who have mental health problems and require support to increase their recovery and independence with a view to enabling them to leave the hospital and live in varying levels of supported living accommodation.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, innovative and forward thinking individual to lead, manage and co-ordinate delivery of Occupational Therapy at the Hospital; ensuring the range and level of interventions, treatments and activities complies with statutory regulations, meets quality standards, and delivers against key performance indicators. Using evidence based and patient centred principles, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.
To be considered you will need to have a relevant professional qualification, a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, full BAOT membership and HCPC membership/registration, experience in a rehabilitation setting and ideally some experience of working within mental health services. A detailed understanding of statutory regulations is essential, as are financial and people management skills.
In addition to on site clinical activities, you will be expected to respond promptly to referrals and undertake patient assessments. You will represent the hospital in Clinical Network meetings for the region and lead the implementation of outcome measures e.g. Cansas and Dialogue. You may also be expected to participate in the on call cover for the Hospital. You will be very organised, positive, confident and an effective communicator. Previous supervisory/managerial experience for a group of staff will be an advantage as you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
Benefits of working for us include the equivalent of 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and birthday leave, contributory pension scheme, comprehensive induction programme and computerised training programme, on-going access to supervision, support in developing your CPD file and access to occupational health services. We have an excellent team and offer a very good working environment with an ever evolving service where ideas and innovation are welcome and are integral to the development of the service.
