Team Manager - Field Work Helpdesk

Would you like to operate at the sharp end of our Smart Metering delivery project, helping to ensure we get our customers upgraded with the latest Smart Meters? All with the aim to manage their energy needs better, minimising consumption and helping the environment.

Working in our Leeds based team consisting of around 30 people, you will directly manage 15 Senior Advisors who receive calls from our engineering team across the United Kingdom. These Senior Advisors help overcome any issues to ensure our metering engineers are able to get their job done, getting the equipment fitted first time and to our customers complete happiness.

You will be a superb team leader, with a genuine interest in people, helping them perform the best they can. You will provide regular informal mentoring as well as regular formal appraisals.

You'll be a very organised person, capable to managing weekly team resource requirements, performance tracking and quality improvements.

Working on weekly rotating shifts, typically 08.00-16.00 but ultimately we cover 07.00 - 19.00 requirements.


  • An outstanding telephone manner ideally from a contact centre environment to manage calls referred by our Advisors.

  • Good written communication for logging team performance and individual reports.

  • Team management will come naturally. Getting the best from your team by fostering the right culture will be your strength.

  • You should be able to operate professionally and swiftly in a busy environment

  • You should enjoy working as part of a flexible and goal focused team

  • Organization will be evident from your past successes. Advance and ad-hoc shift planning, team appraisal knowledge and performance reporting to management will all be within your capability.
