Avenue are currently recruiting a Service Manager for their well-established client to cover the Edinburgh area. This is a great opportunity to continue a career in the ever growing care sector. Your role will be to provide a high-quality care service that supports the rights of service users to live the lives they choose as far as they are able.
Purpose of Role
To provide high quality care at service that support the rights of our service users to live the lives they choose as far as they are able. The Service Manager is directly accountable to the Operations Manager.
General Responsibility
Efficiently manage the day to day running of the service. Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high quality care at home to service users within budget. Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide effective leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.

Key responsibilities include: -
Manage the safety and quality of the business, Provide a good service to service users
Lead and manage staff

Personal attributes

Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support

Commitment to respecting the rights of customers at all times and to promoting their privacy, dignity and independence throughout their lives

Good understanding of budgets, cost control and financial reporting

Knowledge and Understanding

Excellent understanding of the needs of people who require care and support at home and the provision of care at home services in line with best practice.

Good understanding of the regulatory responsibilities of a Manager and the law relating to care at home services.

Essential requirement to be registered with SSSC and keep registration up to date at all times.

Understanding of systems to maintain confidentiality in relation to customers, staff and the business.

Knowledge of Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements, and other regulatory bodies

Experience and skills

Experience of financial management is desirable

Ability to implement Avenue Care Services policies, procedures and instructions

Full drivers licence with no more than 6 points and Class 1 business insurance.
