This ‘small but perfectly formed’ fashion brand is looking for a candidate with a real thirst for fashion and an appreciation for good quality, beautifully designed ladieswear. This brand is successful, rapidly expanding and well-recognised for their stylish, wearable product for every occasion.This role is a pivotal one within the business and requires someone with some solid experience working as a Garment Technologist within another fashion business as you will need to hit the ground running.I need a hard working individual who has worked with woven fabric and cut and sew knitwear/jersey. Experience in denim and outerwear would be an added benefit.Garment Technologist - The Role:The Role consists of but isn’t limited to:
Create and update critical paths for each season to ensure deadlines are met and goods are produced on time.Liaising daily with overseas suppliers mostly via email and occasionally via telephone.Setting up size specs – Using info already set up from design development specs and taking these through to bulk production.Grading size specs - reviewing and confirming grading queries from suppliers.Checking samples from first fit stage through to production and delivery.Checking lab dips and bulk fabrics ensuring that they meet with colour standards - sending comments to suppliers.Checking bulk strike offs for base fabrics and yarns, trims, prints, embellishments - sending comments to suppliers.Reviewing and confirming labelling and ticketing for bulk orders. Reviewing and confirming packing for bulk deliveries.Testing for bulk orders - test selection and also checking results.Inspection reports for bulk deliveries - reviewing and confirming results.In house bulk inspections - carry out QC inspections on bulk deliveries.Chasing development and all sample stages.Customer returns / complaints - processing and logging these. Analyse customer complaints and returns data and work with the relevant departments to take appropriate action.Reviewing return levels each season and sending findings to suppliers where claims are being raised.General Administration and filing of strike offs and samples.
Garment Technologist - The Candiate
At least 5 years’ experience working in the Fashion industry within garment technology role across different clothing products, yarns and fabrics.Knitwear and Jersey experience.Experience of using Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.Experience of using Google Apps & iPads is desirable, but training can be provided.Good Photoshop knowledge is a bonus but not essential.Flexibility, able to work as part of a team and a keen willingness to learn.Excellent communication skills with both the external and internal teams across all levels of the business.Looking for a motivated individual with an excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills who will thrive in a fast paced environment.
