SEN Teaching Assistant Autism and EBD in Newcastle

Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear

£63 - £75 per day

Temporary

Do you have a passion for working with and helping young people with Special Educational Needs? If so, CER would love to speak to you!

We are looking for Teaching Assistants with specialist skills and experience in Autism and EBD to work in our partner SEN schools in Newcastle and the surrounding areas.

As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have had relevant experience in working with either the challenging behaviour of EBD students or the specialist needs of students with autism. Team Teach training is preferable, although this can be offered for candidates keen to upskill.

We are looking for candidates who can engage with children with SEN and help maintain a positive learning environment, whilst managing behaviour that could be classed as difficult. You will be confident in challenging negative classroom behaviour and have high expectations of the SEN learners in your care. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you would be expected to help in any lesson, but a sound understanding of the English and Maths curriculum would be advantageous.

CER are an established education recruitment agency, with over 20 years experience in the primary, secondary and SEN sectors. When you join us you can expect access to CPD training to develop your skillset, competitive rates of pay and a dedicated SEN specialist consultant with links to the major SEN schools in the Newcastle area who will work tirelessly to match your experience with EBD and/or autism to the right role for you. We offer both flexible working for those looking for parttime roles and fulltime SEN Teaching Assistant roles for those looking for a more longterm opportunity.

If you feel you are a Teaching Assistant with the relevant SEN skills and experience, we would love to hear from you by applying to this advert or calling######### and asking for Chris Mahon (bonus points for the correct pronunciation!).

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
