The role of a support worker is exactly what it says it is, you will be providing support to individuals who require help with their day to day lives, so that the people you support can live happily and more independently.
Our people require different levels of support, and some are quite independent. You can expect to be supporting people with day to day tasks such as;
Support individuals in most aspects of my life including finances, personal care, house hold chores, healthcare, visiting medical professionals and other appointments, cooking and healthy eating and keeping in touch with my family. I also need support to understand things and any information such as written correspondence or people contacting by phone and support with helping to keep safe.
Support individuals to maintain relationships with family members and friends, and develop new relationships, . visit family at home or in the community, socialize with friends for meals out or coffee.
Support on a 1-1 basis to participate in activities of our choice, . going for a tea and coffee, music groups, making new friends, going for a day trips or days out, baking, cinema outings, fitness sessions, using different forms of transport, doing the shopping
Support to achieve new goals . research local groups and/or organize a person centred holiday.
No two days will be the same and having a passion for communication would be a huge advantage, we are really looking for team players with a real “Can Do” attitude, and a fantastic sense of humour.
