Mechanical Estimator Building Services

up to £48k per annum

Stevenage

Our client are a specialist HVAC, M&E Projects and Service company with a strong presence in the South of England, due to continued growth they require an Estimator with Mechanical knowledge to work on a number of key large scale maintenance contracts UK wide.

To support and to prepare contract tender enquiries, measurement of works undertaken on site, pricing variations with occasional site visits / meetings nationwide.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare/analyse costings for tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities, occasionally with the consultant/architect and/or the client

  • Procurement of specialist Mechanical and Electrical SubContractors

  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work

  • Assisting the negotiation of variations, calculations & settlement of final accounts

  • Assist in establishing a clients requirements

  • Value management and cost control

  • Value completed work

  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations

  • Assisting / managing monthly project cost reports in time for monthly meetings

  • To develop standard costs for the use of operational assets and resources.

  • To participate in site visits to assess/define customer requirements.

  • To ensure that customers contractual requirements, terms and conditions and standards are taken into account as appropriate in the preparation of estimates and bid packages.

  • To develop standard costs for the use of operational assets and resources.

  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of norms and estimating conventions to improve estimate response times.

Necessary Skills
Essential:

  • Work to a high degree of accuracy with good organisational skills
  • Have a good knowledge of general building services
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work to strict submission deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills using Microsoft Office including knowledge
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and take responsibility for own work
