I am recruiting for a Lead Marketing Copywriter to join my client, a very successful travel company at an extremely significant time due to changes of the leadership and management which is very exciting!! The successful candidate will demonstrate, amongst other things, outstanding written English communications skills, a deep understanding of the travel market, especially, but not limited to, escorted tours, the fullest geographical knowledge, effective research skills and the ability to write compelling and effective copy. You must also be fully flexible in terms of workflow management, be able to work to deadline and be a supreme team player. This exciting, diverse role comes with a very competitive salary in the region of £40000 £45000 plus there are some amazing company benefits.

  • Reporting to the Marketing Director, and working alongside Product Managers, the Marketing Manager and Team, online content managers and sales executives, the successful candidate will produce a full range of written material, including original sales content for new and revised holiday products for inclusion in brochures, advertisements, travel supplements and other offline channels. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with web content managers to provide original material for online channels. Additional tasks will include editing, subediting and proofchecking of written material supplied by marketing department copywriters, and subediting original text as and when required.

  • THE JOB:
    Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Lead Marketing Copywriter is a key role in the leadership team, working closely with colleagues across the business, within clearly defined brand guidelines, and in conjunction with other members of the marketing and product teams. The Lead Copywriter will provide fresh, engaging copy to help sell this awardwinning range of holidays to customers new and old, through a range of channels, from press advertising to brochures, direct mail pieces to emails, advertorials to B2B press releases, and, alongside online content writers, the companys website.
    The role is the brand guardian for copy and has full responsibility for driving consistency across the written word in product and marketing campaigns and defining the brands key messages and tone of voice.

    *Lead on creating engaging, compelling, standout sales messaging for new and existing holiday products, working in association with product managers, to their brief
    *Provide copy as required by other members of the marketing team, working to their brief
    *Work within predetermined schedules to deliver all copy as required on time
    *Ensure the tone, quality and consistency of all copy across the Company
    *Ensure all copy writers are working to the highest standards and producing engaging, grammatically correct prose
    *Edit, subedit and proofread content created by other members of the team
    *Maintain, evolve and share our brand guidelines, be the brand guardian for the written word
    *Write press releases for Travel Agencies and proofread all press releases for B2B distribution
    *Manage projects with many stakeholders, formulate the right brief and ensure that whats produced matches expectations ensuring communication at all stages of the project
    *Identify customers needs and gaps in content and recommend changes
    *Propose new content ideas to support lead generation activity and Company business objectives
    *Continually review the content portfolio, making changes as appropriate

    *An experienced writer and seasoned travel industry professional with a thorough knowledge of what it takes to sell holidays in a highly competitive marketplace
    *Educated to degree level in English or a communicationsrelated discipline or with a demonstrable command of the English language
    *Proven experience creating engaging content of varied formats with a portfolio to share
    *Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in English
    *Thorough understanding of tone of voice and experience in shaping and maintaining a brand voice
    *Working knowledge of SEO
    *Experience of using content management systems
    *Exceptional attention to detail
    *Able to pull the creative from vague briefs
    *Confident decision maker with an understanding of the bigger picture
    *Understanding of brand and what that means for content
    *Able to work to and meet tight deadlines
    *Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a range of people
    *IT literate including MS Office
    *Organised and a multitasker, and especially able to work to strict deadlines
