Ofcom is the regulator for the communications services that we use and rely on each day.
We make sure people get the best from their broadband, home phone and mobile services, as well as keeping an eye on TV and radio.
We also oversee the universal postal service, look after the airwaves used by wireless devices, and also help to make sure people don't get scammed and are protected from bad practices.

Purpose of the Role
As an Operations Executive (Associate), you will be responsible for providing effective general operational support to the Broadcasting and Online Content Group.
Typical duties include: dealing with queries about Broadcast Licensing, Broadcast Standards, and On Demand Programme Services; demonstrating expertise on systems and databases; using reporting tools; compiling and developing documentation including Ofcom's Broadcast and On Demand Bulletin, Preliminary View and Decision packs; coordinating provision of operational support; liaising with senior management, external stakeholders and other teams across Ofcom (. Finance and ICT); managing inboxes; coordinating reviews of internal processes; attending and minuting of internal meetings and coordinating delivery of information data requests.
Requirements of the Role
Coordinating and ensuring the effective provision of operational support to the wider Broadcasting & Online Content Group's, policy, licensing and enforcement work.
Taking ownership of delivery to time, quality and cost across a range of tasks to support the Standards and Audience Protection team in its' policy and enforcement work.
Coordinating the administration of the On Demand Programme Services notification regime.
Providing general administrative support to the Broadcast Licensing team, including the licensing and re-licensing application process, and subsequent grant of licences; issuing licence-related documentation, ensuring the accuracy of our licensing record systems, knowledge to test changes to licence products and producing reports on licensing activity.
Showing expertise on our systems and databases, supporting and training administrators in the team, helping them and others across B&OCG to learn how to use new systems and processes.
Identifying and pre-empting issues, handling and escalating risk.
Demonstrating agility by handling various tasks at once.
Being the first point of contact for any ad-hoc and/or complex queries; providing clear and concise guidance and escalating where necessary.
Reviewing procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose and up to date. Providing suggestions for their improvement and taking them forward with relevant stakeholders to gain approval.
Collaborating closely and effectively with other team members, Administrators, Associates, Senior Associate Managers, Principals, and Directors.
Keeping stakeholders informed and updated on progress.
Skills, knowledge and experience
You'll take responsibility for effective and timely delivery of high quality and complex work, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are kept informed.
You'll have the ability to manage and handle competing demands within a varied and changing workload, using initiative to plan, organise, prioritise and recognise when to escalate risks.
You'll demonstrate very strong attention to detail and accuracy and take pride in making sure your work is of the appropriate quality.
You'll be able to work on a range of systems; inputting data accurately and generating documentation.
You'll have accurate record-keeping and filing skills, and ability to use databases (SharePoint, Salesforce and the Microsoft suite).
You'll be able to work independently; demonstrating flexibility and adaptability and supporting a culture of collaboration and trust.
You'll demonstrate a working understanding of the broadcasting and/or on-demand sectors.
You'll provide accurate and effective feedback to others on completed work in a timely manner. Informing their line manager about any reoccurring issues and/or causes for concern.
You'll have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to represent the Team's position on a range of subject areas.
You'll be able to build and maintain effective working relationships; sharing ideas, information and knowledge to support collaborative working between colleagues.
