Teaching Personnel are currently seeking new Learning Support Assistants in the Brighton and Hove area to work in a Specialist School. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:
• Complex learning difficulties
• Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
The Role: The role will operate between 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday. Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available.
The Candidate: Ideal candidates may need to be able to drive but it is not essential, as we will likely have a school local to you. Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:
• Youth/Community work experience
• Care worker
• Challenging behaviour within family
• SEN Experience
• Police Experience
Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils, so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum. Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of % statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
