About The Role
12 month Fixed Term Contract
The Health & Safety Manager will support the development and implementation of Health and Safety best practice, ensuring the Company complies with relevant statutory provisions and stakeholder expectations in relation to employment and service provision.
They will manage and supervise the Health & Safety Advisors to ensure that appropriate professional support is provided to assist Colleagues in implementing and maintaining appropriate health and safety standards, and will lead the Health & Safety Team in the absence of the Head of Health & Safety.
The Health & Safety Manager will drive initiatives to develop and deliver a positive and proactive Health & Safety culture through an innovative solutions-based approach, whilst overseeing and supporting the Health & Safety Advisors in the investigation of all major incidents, implementation of corrective actions and promotion of lessons learned to mitigate recurring issues.
This is a national role with regular travel across the UK.
You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management, or an associated discipline. In addition, you will hold a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety Management or equivalent qualification in Fire Risk Assessment.
With demonstrable experience in the application of Health & Safety Management in a complex multi-site business, preferably Health and Social Care or in an allied health service, you will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to coach, motivate and influence others and build credibility.
Ideally you will be a Chartered Safety Practitioner or working towards CMIOSH status or equivalent with IIRSM or CIEH.
A Full Driving License is essential, and appointment is subject to a satisfactory DBS/ PVG check.
