We're recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager / Construction Project Manager for a multi-national manufacturer and distributor of construction supply materials, to Project Manage Construction and fit out projects across the South East of England on behalf of all our clients brands for both Capital and Maintenance.
Working alongside MDs / RDs & BUDs in specific regions, the Contracts / Project Manager will report directly to the Head of Development, whilst working closely with the compliance team, liaising with Category / Space Planning to provide brand innovation and development across each brand.
Key Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager / Construction Project Manager:
Work alongside the Project Management team to deliver same results for each brands so that they maintain the corporate design and feel so each brand looks the same when it could be in Aberdeen, Manchester or London
Work with the Maintenance/Compliance delivery team, to ensure legal compliance with respect to asbestos, legionella, fixed wire testing, shutter doors & fire doors, sprinklers, pat testing etc.
Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and Manufacturers to ensure best value & practices, working alongside the procurement team in order to obtain best value
Maintain legal compliant in all building and fit out matters to ensure building control are satisfied
Comply with all company policies including Principles of Conduct and Action
Ensure all Standards are met including on time delivery
Maintain accurate, up to date records for Audit purposesWhat we are looking for in a Contracts Manager:
NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management
CSCS Black card
Demonstrable experience of managing all aspects of construction fit out projects
Ability to manage budgets effectivelyPrevious experience / knowledge:
A solid understanding of Construction/Building Services
Technical knowledge in Construction and fit out techniques including statutory regulations
Planning and Building Regulations, CDM, H&S, (Asbestos etc)
The ability to deliver projects within demanding deadlines / timescales
A clear understanding of the process required to complete a project on time in line with budget constraints
A clear understanding of the process required to maintain legal requirements in relation to compliance obligations
Ability to prioritise and plan objectives
A good understanding of Design and Merchandising principlesSkills:
Comprehensive IT Skills with the ability to accommodate new technology as required
Excellent communication skills, orally and written, in a manner appropriate to the audience and level
Ability to adapt to new and challenging situations, with the flexibility and assertiveness to work at all levels
Enthusiastic, with a can do attitude
Ability to manage external contractors
Ability to manage internal colleagues
A positive attitude to solving problems
Flexibility in all aspects of the role
Ability to work in the field
Extensive experience in the Building Industry in Project Management / Technical Services, including holding a supervisory or managerial position during this time.
