Due to the Company’s expansion and growth we are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to help future proof our purchasing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with heaps of talent and ambition that is keen to develop in the role to be able to act as deputy to our Purchasing Manager. This role would suit candidates who have previously worked as Purchasing/Procurement Specialists or as a Buyer/Senior Buyer who are ready to take the next step in their career. We offer a competitive salary of c£50knegotiable depending on experience.

To be successful in this role you will:

-Have proven experience with successful development, negotiation & management of a supplier base, steel industry experience would be a bonus

  • Excellent communication skills, listening and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Educated to degree level and CIPS qualified desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel

Senior**Buyer roles and responsibility include:**

  • Developing the supply chain in flat product.

  • Procurement of product categories under your control.

  • Planning and Scheduling of deliveries, to include Ports and Shipping.

  • BSI Standards department contact and controller.

  • Monitoring daily performance indicators, managing workloads and priorities.

  • Problem solving and thinking outside the box ensuring improvements are driven through

  • Ensuring that high standards of professionalism are achieved.

  • Negotiation with suppliers / best prices / rebates / early settlement discount.

  • Driving your own personal development.

  • Dealing with price and weight discrepancies.

  • Ensuring that a free flow of information is kept up to date to the Purchasing Manager.

  • Actively intervene if Customer service levels are being compromised.

  • Managing contracts and projects assigned to you.

  • Day to Day management of the buyers.
