Software Engineering Delivery Lead, 50% Hands on 50% Delivery Management, Any Development language

Ask yourself these questions:

  • How is your career progression working out for you?

  • How are you making that next step up the career ladder from being a Software Engineer and into a more leadership focused role?

If either of those questions are difficult for you to answer easy then this role would be the ideal bridge for you to cross!

The Role: Working on coding and hands on work for 50% of the time, you will remain technical, keep up to date with technology and be able to utilise your established skill set. In the other 50% of the time you will be making things happen within the Software Engineering team that you work within, almost like a typical Scrum Master, but with a slightly different blend of skills and duties required.

Why this role over any of the other 100million software engineering roles? The Delivery Lead role is part remote, with 1 or 2 days a week from home as standard as well as the flexibility to commute at times that work best for you around traffic, childcare etc. The role also offers you a fabulous working environment with a full gym within the office, a great canteen/restaurant area with onsite costa coffee, access to training and personal development sites such as Udemy, a great pension scheme and all the usual jazz you get from proper tech companies. The single biggest plus for this role is that there is huge scope to progress from this role into a more senior roles and the company pride themselves in setting up their staff to have long and successful careers.

What Tech: Technical requirements, well the hiring manager is very open to Developers and Software Engineers from any tech stack. You could be a .NET Developer, Python Software Engineer or come from a background in JavaScript, Java, Ruby, PHP or even something like Perl (well Perl maybe not, but the others for sure). You must be able to code, solve complex problems and be able to get to grips with the code base they are working from. Ideally some knowledge of things like AWS, Cloud, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, DevOps, Agile methodology and if you have any experience with CRM or ERP systems then that would be great.

Do I have the soft skills? Soft skill requirements are more specific. They need someone with an eye on delivery, someone able to motivate a team and prioritise workflow. The person will obviously have some decent people skills and the ability to manage individuals, with a liking of Agile methodology, creating a collaborative environment and helping get the best out of the team.

What next? Apply now and I will follow up to have a chat about the position. We can make sure you are happy with the role and that the role would be suited to you. I will always tell you the company name and give you more details about the project you will be working on, as well as send you the job specification for the role.
