The Salvation Army provides resettlement and ongoing tenancy support for homeless adults within the Bristol Area. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and passionate individual to fill a frontline Floating Support Worker role to join our team at the Bristol Floating Support Service working on our Low Support Service. Our service provides support for up to 80 individuals, supporting them through the homelessness pathway into settled accommodation.
Key Responsibilities: You will deliver a high-quality support service to vulnerable individuals, which promotes client choice, control and ensures clients learn new skills, make positive life choices, and achieve the best possible outcomes. You will work with clients to ensure tenancy sustainment and encourage them to live independently, whilst ensuring they have the skills and confidence to do so.
You will work closely with our Programme and Service Managers to offer the best service possible to clients looking for a fresh start in their new homes.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
Knowledge of the main support needs of homeless and vulnerable clients.
Skills and knowledge in the area of mental health and substance misuse are desirable.
Knowledge of the benefits system and understanding of social housing.
Ability to work closely with colleagues, external agencies, and management teams to ensure a high-quality service for all clients.
A passion for working with homeless individuals who we can offer our support and guidance to.
