Network Construction Operative - Northampton

Morrison Utility Services are currently looking to recruit a Network Construction Operative (NCO1) to work on our tRIIO contract in Northamptonshire. For this role, you must live in one of the following postcodes NN1-18 & 29

As an NCO1 you will be working as part of a two-person team, you'll respond to gas escapes, working round-the-clock shifts to maintain supply and keep both you and our customers safe.

tRIIO is a gas engineering business working in partnership with Cadent Gas to improve the supply of gas to millions of people living and working in North London and the East of England.

We are a joint venture organisation, owned by Morrison Utility Services and Skanska UK specialising in the delivery of design and contracting services for the UK’s gas distribution network – replacing old mains, laying new ones, installing new connections to houses and commercial premises and helping with emergency response services.

As a NCO1 your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Safely excavating onto and repairing gas mains
  • Providing on-call emergency cover
  • Liaising with the public
  • Flexible working pattern – including some unsociable hours
  • Use of Breathing Apparatus meaning candidates must to be clean shaven every day

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ideally you will have a Construction/Civils/Ground Works background
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience in Safety Critical working environment
