Café Chef (Full time Wednesday-Sunday)

Amberley Museum is looking for a Chef to run the Limeburners Café kitchen. This will include designing and delivering attractive menus for our visitors and volunteers which can be cooked from fresh, local ingredients.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to make a real difference to the operation of the Café and produce a valuable contribution to the Museum’s operating costs. The Museum is a registered charity, so it is vital that costs and wastage are controlled closely. Our daily offering is sandwiches and snacks with hot food served at lunchtime, including baked potatoes, toasted sandwiches, soup and main dishes. The Museum is open to the public all year round Wednesday to Sunday, apart from 23rd December-10th January. Special events are often held at weekends, which can attract a large audience.

The Café Chef will report to the Visitor Experience Manager and work closely with the Catering Supervisor, who looks after the front of house operation and rostering. We are looking for someone with experience of working in fresh food kitchens in a café or restaurant environment and of menu research, costings and gross profit calculations. Some experience of event catering would be desirable. Good team working and communication skills are vital, together with the ability to work both when under pressure and during quieter periods.

Salary: £22,000-£23,000 depending on experience

Please send a CV and covering letter explaining how you meet the requirements of the position as set out in the attached job description.
