Senior UX UI Frontend Developer

  • A true leader in their field is seeking a Senior UX UI Frontend Developer to play a key role in the creation of an entirely new web portal user interface (replacing a Grailsbased UI), for a software solution which is in use across hundreds of thousands of businesses across the globe.

  • The business has a presence in over 20 locations globally, and you will be joining during the early inception of a brandnew development hub in their offices close to High Wycombe. As such, this position offers particularly good scope for progression.

  • Initially you will be involved in getting to know the business and will take a trip to two USbased offices, where you will spend 2 weeks getting to grips with their business; their culture, their products and their future roadmap.

  • You will then return to the UK where would will participate in product design usability, responsiveness, performance, and security in relation to a particularly interesting software product.

  • Youll create concepts, wireframes, mockups and user journeys that lead to intuitive user experiences for multiple devices (including mobile), implement the user experience designs, and work with backend developers to integrate them with the full technology stack.

  • Working collaboratively with a highly competent product management and backend development team, youll design and create a new, modern web UI to replace an existing traditional web UI. You will identify and implement the best UI technology for the job.

  • What youll need:

  • Experience delivering an excellent user experience and a responsive user interface across multiple browsers, with knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with one or more modern JavaScript libraries (particularly React, although Backbone/Marionette, Angular, Ember could be of benefit)
  • Understanding of web protocols including HTTPS, Websockets, SSE and REST
  • Experience as a UI/UX designer, with a solid portfolio of prior design projects
  • Experience with automated testing, from the unit through to functional
  • Development with backends based on a microservices architecture and proficient in developing asynchronous code
  • Experience with UI testing frameworks; KarmaJS, Protractor, or Cucumber
  • Experience with any of the following: Git Atlassian Stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Stash) Balsamiq, Adobe Illustrator, Wireframe.cc, InVision
  • Experience of WebSockets, SSE Iconography and/or other graphic artistic abilities would be beneficial, although is not a requirement.

Certainly, youll need a passion for programming, admiring the simple over the complex. Working from home is possible, although youll need to be in the office, close to High Wycombe approx. 3 days per week.
