Passionate Challenging Behaviour Specialist TA / Teaching Assistant Required for Immediate Start!

A school near Okehampton for students with Challenging Behaviour and Social and Emotional Mental Health Issues / SEMH who have been excluded from a mainstream setting (KS1 to KS4) requires a talented teaching assistant, trained in NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Team-Teach training would be beneficial but not essential, and this post is available for an immediate start for the right candidate.

The school has recently relocated and is now expanding, with new opportunities arising for permanent staff with training and progression provided . This is a welcoming environment with a team that shares a passion for education and operate like a close-knit family unit. The head is now looking for enthusiastic, dedicated staff with a willingness to get stuck into the day, build strong relationships with students and staff along the way and most importantly work with the students to engage with the daily lessons and keep focussed and on track.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to support students on a one to one basis with curriculum support, anger management sessions and supporting small groups with class-based activities. The role will involve working under the direction of a class teacher. The post is for 5 days per week with the opportunity to go into permanent roles.

A DBS on the update service is essential in this role, however we can apply for one on your behalf. If you have an enhanced DBS on the update service, please make me aware in your application.
