Community Integrated Care is currently seeking caring and committed people to support a gentleman with life-changing injuries to live his life to the full. With a positive, outgoing, and energetic nature, you will provide a highly individualised service, respecting the needs and wishes of this person in his own home.

he gentleman is very creative and energetic and will be continuing with his career in broadcasting. He enjoys listening to music and would like to play the guitar again. He has a keen interest in motor racing and would also like to ride a motorcycle again. He enjoys writing and would like to write a book about his personal experience. He has also enrolled in an Open University degree course, which is due to late start next year.

He will be following a professionally constructed rehabilitation programme. He will require assistance with tasks with which he has physical difficulty. Ideally you will have experience of supporting people with complex care needs. A clean driving licence is essential.

Putting the preferences of this individual at the heart of everything you do, you will assist him to become more independent. You will be comfortable supporting him with all aspects of daily living, including moving and handling, help with meals and intimate care tasks. You will also provide social support and promote his independence so that he can become more active and achieve his goals and aspirations.

An upbeat and positive manner is essential, as is having a genuine passion for supporting people to enjoy the local and wider community.

You will also hold an SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards this within an agreed timescale.

Additionally, you will be comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support this area. You will also have an appropriate Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) required qualification, as determined by your SSSC registration, or a willingness to work towards this.

You will receive all person specific training necessary for this role and a comprehensive company induction, as well as the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge further to enhance a worthwhile and rewarding career in providing complex care.
