The Southfield Trust is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for Hazel Court Further Education Department. This is a fixed term post until 22nd July 2020 for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only. Candidates should be highly motivated with the ability to work alone, as well as part of a team and can engage with our learners in a calm, innovative manner. Teaching Assistants work as part of a team under the direction of the class Teacher. Applicants should be flexible and enthusiasic with an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures.
Hazel Court is based on two sites. The Secondary School and the FE Department educate pupils and students between the ages of 11 and 19 with a range of learning difficulties. Hazel Court FE Department is located on the campus of East Sussex College but is still very much a part of Hazel Court School.
The FE Department aims are to prepare the students for post school provision; continued education and supported living. Therefore, the emphasis is on independent living, work experience and students being able to take part in activities with a wider range of staff and students.
Hazel Court has a friendly and supportive staff team who have a wealth of expertise and are committed to the continuing professional development of all staff - offering a strong programme of in school training.
