Job Description

The post holder is directly responsible for the contracted security staff deployed on this prestigious site and all aspects of the security service delivered by the team at this location.  The role will include but is not limited to;

This role is Monday to Friday 40 hours per week at a rate of £14ph you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the site; Access control of the premises, security element of the the estate, car park management, patrolling requirements, control room operation and alarm monitoring and emergency response functions.

As the site manager you are responsible for Initiating and undertaking effective investigations and production of reports relating to the services provided or systems monitored as and when requested by the Senior Contract Manager or the Client management team, in order to promote and provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, contractors and visitors and for their assets and property.

You will be routinely required to review and implement a wide range of defined procedures and protocols, implementing corrective measures where necessary to ensure that all security staff have a clear and thorough knowledge of requirements.  Where necessary drawing on your experience, judgment and initiative to give effective guidance and direction to the lead controllers and the wider team members.

  • To maintain close lines of communication with and support the Senior Contract Manager and the Client Management team, taking direction from either as may be required in the performance of the Job Role.

  • To take responsibility for all aspects of the day to day contracted security function and service delivery in line with the terms & conditions laid out in the service contract, ensuring compliance with all Mitie and Client protocols.

  • Liaising with the HR and corporate security departments in relation to any issues encountered and providing accurate and timely reports when requested.

  • To observe full compliance with SIA licensing requirements for all security staff employed or undertaking duties at the Client Site, highlighting and initiating any corrective actions with the Senior Contract manager.

  • To ensure any equipment and systems issued to, operated or monitored by the security team are properly maintained and any equipment/systems faults are escalated to the appropriate person(s) in line with directives and operational needs.

  • To initiate the production of detailed reports and formal investigations following any serious or reportable incidents or occurrences as and when necessary. Informing the Senior Contract manager of any incidents affecting the integrity and operation of the site.

  • To ensure that all shifts are fully staffed to the agreed levels at all times and any discrepancies are communicated to the senior contract manager and where necessary Mitie resources at the earliest opportunity.

  • To protect the site, staff and assets by effectively controlling access to the site and promoting security awareness amongst the team.

  • To promote and maintain the health, Safety and welfare of Security staff employed on site, undertaking regular annual reviews of all task based risk assessments and reporting any failures or hazards to the contract manager and customer’s H&S team.

  • To be fully conversant with all processes, procedures and policies pertaining to or utilised by the Security operation ensuring their ongoing maintenance, initiating amendments and communicating any updates to all staff, the Senior Contract manager in a timely manner.

  • To maintain the level of training of all staff employed within the site Security team to the agreed levels, ensuring all training documentation is completed correctly and addressing any failures or shortfalls as required.

  • To ensure compliance with Data Protection Legislation regarding disclosure of personal and confidential information held on the security logs and databases including CCTV systems.

  • To implement suitable monitoring of all site documentation and reports ensuring a high standard is maintained and offering advice/corrective action where required.

  • To conduct suitable monitoring checks in relation to staff sickness and absence through effective return to work interviews in line with company sickness, absence and return to work policies.

  • To initiate and conduct regular appraisals for all security staff.

  • To effectively manage and monitor all duties carried out by security staff employed on site ensuring they are conducted efficiently and correctly, addressing shortfalls by the implementation of any additional corrective measures as required.

  • Ensure all staff responsible for the management and ordering of department consumables do so effectively in order to maintain operational levels of stock.

  • To oversee the effective production and programming of access control badges and maintenance of the ACS system database.

Qualifications

Person Specification

  • 5 year employment history

  • Must have previous management experience

  • Evidence of UK residency for the last 5 years

  • Previous experience of working in a customer facing role

  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)

  • Excellent Customer Service skills

  • Attention to detail and adherence to standards

  • Flexible approach / attitude to work

  • IT skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel etc)

  • SIA Licence (SO

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
