Our client is one of the largest recyclers of steel in the UK. They now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, Interim Cash Management Associate for a 6 month fixed term contract.
The Interim Cash Management Associate is a key role ensuring appropriate management of cash and understanding the implications for cash flow management on the business; it involves supporting the Treasury functions through a full range of cashier activities. Reconciliation of bank accounts and resolving cash discrepancies are integral parts of the role.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Reconcile all bank accounts to agreed service levels, in order to ensure accuracy and appropriate resolution of discrepancies
Responsible for investigating and resolving queries and issues arising from the reconciliation and control of the banking systems and accounts
Maintain daily cashbooks
Raising manual payment requests, ensuring appropriate authorisations have been given
Inputting manual payments to the bank
Executing payment runs (Faster Payment and CHAPS) and reconciling to the ledgers
Responsible for seeking appropriate authorisations in line with bank mandates.
Liaise with master data team/AP team, reviewing changes to supplier bank details to ensure accuracy of master data contained within LN.
Close liaison with Treasury in managing foreign currency positions to ensure sufficient funds are available for all foreign payments, and to minimise financial risk to the Company
Updating monthly exchange rates
Comply with security, external and internal audit requirements
Build and maintain relationships with the Collections team to ensure accurate and timely information on customer receipts and contras with purchase ledger, ensuring they have been communicated to the cash collection teams
Advise AP team of any returned monies in relation to supplier payments made
Responsible for the accurate posting of such items to vendor accounts
Identify and escalate potential systems and process improvements in order to promote continuous improvement and increased efficiency
Maintain standard operating procedures documentation, addresses and contacts
Support invoice discounting process and other funding administration
Work in conjunction with other finance team members in order to maximise service performance and foster a team working culture
The successful Interim Cash Management Associate will have: a high standard of general education, including maths GCSE or equivalent.
Relevant cashier/banking experience essential given the context and compliance issues within the role.
Good working knowledge of accounting software packages, including LN are desirable.
Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Office preferred.
Strong team working and relationship building skills
Ability to prioritise own workload, attention to detail and strong mathematical skills are essential.
