We have an exciting opportunity in the opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join the new AMRC North West facility in Preston to meet demand in new digitally orientated manufacturing research projects. Applications from candidates with professional/research experience and/or graduate, masters or PhD degrees in software, electronics, telecommunication, data science or manufacturing, are welcomed. We are looking for a diverse skill-set, including good organisational skills, and the ability to research, problem solve, design, and implement ideas in a hands-on environment. In this role, you will be required to have a practical approach, a positive attitude, and be a confident communicator. You will: · Have a good masters or PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent industrial experience · Have general programming skills within supplementary languages in one or more of the following: C, C++, C , Java, Python, Matlab · Have a strong grasp of software engineering principles. · Have experience of successful team working, including teams made up of internal colleagues and external customers with varied skill sets. · Have the ability to assess priorities and manage project resources to constraints and deadlines . About the Team The AMRC NW is part of The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing (AMRC) is a cluster of world-class centres for research into advanced manufacturing technologies used in the aerospace, power generation, medical and other high-value manufacturing sectors. The AMRC has more than 80 industrial partners, including global giants such as Boeing, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and Airbus, as well as small businesses. .uk . The North West group currently employs 35 members of staff in a 5000m2 facility.
